The
Tao-te Ching indicates that Taoism has Three Treasures (chapter 67).
The
first one is to protect the environment for human existence. The second
treasure aims at not squander the natural resources of the earth. Simple
life is a Taoist moral norm. The third treasure warns not to destroy
the wealth of others nor of its descendants. In Taoist history, Masters
always proclaimed that Taoists temples could not be luxurious, therefore
in China temples are always simple. Taoism uses Feng Shui to harmonize
life and to communicate with the energy of nature in order to preserve
Earth's natural system.
