The Tao-te Ching warns not to use force to conquer the universe. For this would only cause resistance. "Does not have to force to the world with arms. These are thing that easily become setbacks."(Chapter 30). The Tao always shows peace, so if we do not live in peace the Tao is lost and life can not be improved. In Chinese history Taoism never caused any war, on the contrary, the hand of Taoists Masters appeased wars.
